few days before my arrival in Bamako, the missionaries informed me that they could pick me up at the airport. My dear friend Ely Sanogo Sikasso has no phone at home, and does occasionally check their email in a cyber cafe. No problem: Caleb Dembele, an alumni of Louvain-La-Neuve, works for the association of Protestant churches in Mali. He responded directly to my email and was there at the exit of the airport to greet me. He drove home home SIL (translators of the Bible) and the next day Caleb took his entire day to walk me city: changing money in the street (better rates than banks), visiting several Christian organizations, meeting with the pastor Tiow Diarra, who has a project to launch the Institute for Global Mission, which trains missionaries his country. He invited me to eat out: these 14 and 15 February, he has spared no effort to welcome me. Thank you, Caleb! And also a big thank you to my wife Monique, who let me go the day of Valentine's Day:)!
